On July 10 this year, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at a meeting in Tashkent: “If in the energy sector we continue to use natural gas and coal, after a while their reserves can be depleted. This will be an unpardonable mistake and a crime for the future generation. “

At the same time, he himself will make the “unpardonable mistake and crime” for the future generation if he allows Russia to build a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.

Nuclear power plants are now a technological anachronism from the past of the 20th century. Now there are opportunities to use much cheaper and completely safe methods of generating electricity, for example solar batteries and wind generators, which are also continuously being improved. They are ideal for the climatic conditions of sunny Uzbekistan.

The permission of the government of Uzbekistan of the Russian state corporation Rosatom for the construction of the nuclear power plant looks like an act of political corruption.
