Uzbekistan: The office of Ezgulik human rights organization is devastated

The office of Ezgulik (benefaction), the only officially registered human rights organization in Uzbekistan, has been devastated in Tashkent. According to human rights activists, the malefactors stole the hard disk of main server.

“It stored entire archive, all important documents and the projects, planned for this year. We can only guess who stands behind this robbery” the human rights advocate Abdurakhmon Tashanov informed Ferghana.Ru.

The Ezgulik officers learned about the devastation only on Monday when they had returned to office after weekends. The doors were sealed by the watchman. It turned about that he noticed the doors of the devastated office were unlocked and sealed them.

The human rights activists filed the case in police. At the moment, the police officers already arrived in the Ezgulik office. Today the human rights advocates are going to make a statement on the robbery.

Ezgulik human rights organization was founded in 2003. Later on the organization was officially registered with the assistance of that time head of OSCE. In the last seven years Vasilya Inoyatova has been managing the organization, which is also involved in politics.
