He was sentenced for 10 years under articles 165 (extortion) and 139 (slander) of the Criminal Code of Republic Uzbekistan (CC RUz). Now he is in a grave condition, as he is a diabetic.

In November, 2008 fellow villagers Wrote 66 letters to the President with the request to set him free.

According to relatives in the prision he has caught a tuberculosis. He feels himself sharply badly.

In September, 2009 his imprisonment term was increased to 3 years by the authorities.

From the beginning of 2008 Rashid Begjanov was subjected to severe tortures, all his teeth has been beaten out, he was sent into penal isolation ward three times.

Political prisoner Murod Juraev being in prison since 1994, should have been released from jail on August, 14th, 2009. But he did not leave the prison, a court has once again sentenced him to a new term – 3 years of imprisonment. Murod Juraev have been accused of ostensibly braking internal discipline (regulations) of the colony.

The added new term to Murod Juraev is the third consecutive time. Shortly before the termination of the first term in 2003 Murod Juraev was sentenced on a far-fetched charge under article 221 of the Criminal Code of the Republic Uzbekistan – «Disobedience of the legal requirements of the administration of the colonies of execution of punishments» – for three years of imprisonment.

The same has occurred again in 2006 when the termination date of the last sentence approached: more than three years of punishment was added to the prisoner’s term under the same article 221 of the Criminal Code.

Jamshid Karimov is the nephew of President Islam Karimov, whom he criticized in his articles. In the middle of September, 2006 he was placed in Psychiatric Clinic of the City of Samarkand on compulsory treatment.

His mother Margarita, died in March, 2008 because of her trials for the destiny of the son. He is refused to meetings with human rights advocates. His condition and the exact site is kept in strict secret.

He was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment with the confiscation of property to serve the punishment in a high security colony.

According to his relatives, he is subjected to tortures and humiliations. Despite all mockeries and pressure he has not lost will, defends his belief and ideals with firmness.

Mamadali Mahmudov needs urgent medical aid, he has a tuberculosis.

On November 25, 2009, Mr. Ganikhon Mamatkhanov was convicted of “fraud” and “bribery”, according respectively to Articles 211.3 and 168.3 of the Criminal Code, and sentenced to 5 years of prisonOn October 9, 2009,.

On October 12, 2009, the Fergana City Court placed Mr. Mamatkhanov in pre-trial detention on preliminary charges of fraud and bribery, and ruled that the latter should remain in custody for the duration of the investigation.

On November 16, 2009, the first hearing was held against Mr. Ganikhon Mamatkhanov before the Akhunbabaev district court for criminal cases (Ferghana district). However, because of the absence of Mr. Usmanov, the trial was postponed to November 23, 2009, as the judge demanded that the prosecutors ensure the attendance of at least one of their main witnesses at the trial.

These events follow the publication a few days before his arrest of an open letter by Mr. Mamatkhanov addressed to Mr. Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov, President of Uzbekistan, denouncing the adverse consequences of the ongoing land reform in Uzbekistan. Mr. Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov is also due to visit Fergana in the coming weeks.
