A strong civil society is possible only in a state in which a large part of the population works in a free, independent and diverse small business. Because only numerous small entrepreneurs are interested in having a strong civil society in the country with an independent judiciary and free media.

In Uzbekistan, the indigenous population is also in the position of illegal foreigners – they are prohibited from owning land for agricultural use.
There is an even more disturbing trend now. The government of Uzbekistan decided to give agricultural land to foreign companies. For example, companies from Malaysia offer to rent 40,000 hectares of land. And the native inhabitants of the country can be expelled from their historical places of residence.
